Privacy Policy

Effective date: September 6, 2026 · Applies to classicradio.network and the Classic Radio Network mobile app

1. Overview

Classic Radio Network ("we," "us," "our") operates classicradio.network and its companion Android app (together, the "Service"), offering free access to internet radio stations. This Policy explains what information is collected when you use the Service, why, and the choices available to you. By using the Service you agree to the practices described here.

You can listen to every station on Classic Radio Network without creating an account or providing any personal information.

2. Information We Collect

2.1 Information you provide

The Service does not require registration, login, or any personal details to listen. We do not collect names, email addresses, or payment information through the Service itself.

2.2 Information collected automatically

Like most websites and apps, our servers and our streaming/CDN partners automatically log certain technical information whenever you connect, including:

2.3 Mobile app permissions

The Android app requests only the permissions needed to stream audio: internet access and network state (to detect connectivity and switch streams gracefully). We do not request access to your contacts, camera, microphone, storage, or precise location.

3. Cookies & Local Storage

Classic Radio Network does not set first-party tracking or advertising cookies of its own. We do use ordinary browser storage for functional purposes only:

Some embedded third-party resources (see Section 5) may set their own cookies or use similar technologies under their own privacy policies, which we don't control.

4. How We Use Information

Any information described above is used solely to:

We do not use this information to build individual listener profiles, and we do not sell personal information.

5. Third-Party Streaming & Service Providers

Classic Radio Network aggregates independently-operated internet radio stations. To play them, your device connects — through our servers or directly — to the following categories of third-party infrastructure, each governed by its own privacy practices:

ProviderPurpose
ShoutcastWidgetsSupplies the station directory, live now-playing metadata, listener counts, and artist information for many of our streams.
AzuraCast station serversHost and stream several of our partner stations' live audio and now-playing data.
Google FontsServes the typefaces used on this site.
Cloudflare CDN (Font Awesome)Serves the icon set used in our interface.
jsDelivr CDN (hls.js)Serves the media-player library used to play HLS video/audio streams.
Social media platformsFacebook, X (Twitter), and YouTube links in our footer/header take you to those platforms' own sites, which have their own privacy policies.

When your player connects to a station stream, that connection (and the IP address it originates from) is visible to whichever server hosts that station, the same way it would be if you streamed directly from that station's own website.

6. Advertising & Affiliate Links

To help keep the Service free, we occasionally display affiliate advertising banners/links from third-party ad networks. These links may use their own tracking pixels or cookies to measure clicks and conversions, and may collect technical data such as your IP address and browser information in accordance with their own privacy policies. We do not control and are not responsible for the privacy practices of these third-party advertisers.

You can use standard browser controls (ad blockers, cookie blocking, "Do Not Track") to limit third-party advertising tracking. Doing so will not affect your ability to listen to any station.

7. Sharing & Disclosure

We do not sell, rent, or trade personal information. We may share limited technical information only:

8. Data Retention

Server access logs and stream health-check records are retained only as long as needed for security, diagnostics, and abuse prevention, and are periodically purged. We do not maintain long-term individual listening histories tied to any identifiable person.

9. Children's Privacy

The Service is intended for a general audience and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us so we can delete it.

10. Your Privacy Rights

Depending on where you live (for example, under the GDPR in the EU/UK or the CCPA in California), you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or restrict the processing of personal information we hold about you, and to opt out of certain data sharing. Because the Service collects very little personal information in the first place, most requests can be resolved simply by clearing your browser's local storage/cookies or uninstalling the app. For anything else, contact us using the details in Section 14 and we will respond as required by applicable law.

11. Data Security

We use industry-standard measures — including HTTPS encryption for all pages and streams served through our proxy — to protect information in transit. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

12. International Users

The Service is accessible worldwide. Streams may be routed through servers located in different countries than your own, so information may be processed in jurisdictions with different data protection laws than where you live.

13. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or for legal/regulatory reasons. The "Effective date" at the top of this page will always show when it was last revised. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Policy.
